Singer embroidery
Turn any picture into an embroidery design for your Singer
Singer's own embroidery format is .XXX, which StitchMyPic doesn't produce. Many Singer machines with a USB port also read DST or PES, though: check your model's format list, then turn your picture into a ready-to-stitch file.

Which file format does my Singer machine read?
.DST
Singer's native embroidery format is .XXX, which StitchMyPic doesn't create. Some Singer machines with a USB port also list DST and PES among the formats they open, while others only take XXX or Singer's own software formats. Check the embroidery file list in your manual before you download, and pick the matching file from the ZIP.
Also in your download for Singer: .PES
All about the .DST formatWhat size designs can my Singer sew?
Singer embroidery machines typically come with a 100 × 100 mm hoop and a large hoop of about 260 × 150 mm, but sizes vary by model. Use the largest hoop your machine accepts as the limit, and leave 5–10 mm of clearance so the presser foot stays clear of the frame.
| Hoop | Sewing field | Typical models and uses |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | 100 × 100 mm (3.9 × 3.9 in) | Small motifs and left chest logos |
| Large | 260 × 150 mm (10.2 × 5.9 in) | Larger designs (sizes vary by model) |
Accessory hoops vary by model, so check the list in your machine's manual. StitchMyPic sizes the design for the hoop you pick and warns you if it doesn't fit.
How do I get a design onto my Singer?
If your Singer reads DST or PES, unzip the download, copy that file to a FAT32 USB stick and open it from the machine's USB or embroidery screen. If it only reads .XXX, open the DST in Singer's embroidery software, or another program that saves XXX, and save it from there.
- 1Check your manual for the embroidery formats your Singer reads.
- 2Unzip the download and copy the .dst or .pes file to a FAT32 USB stick.
- 3Open the design from the machine's USB or embroidery screen.
- 4If your machine only reads .XXX, convert the DST with embroidery software first, then thread the colours from the production sheet.
Does StitchMyPic make .XXX files?
No. StitchMyPic exports PES, DST, JEF and EXP. If your Singer only accepts XXX, open the DST from your download in embroidery software that can save XXX. DST keeps the stitches exactly; only the thread colours need to be set again, using the production sheet.
