The short version
- We only use essential cookies: one keeps you signed in, one remembers your language.
- No analytics, advertising or social media trackers, so there's no cookie banner to click through.
- PayPal sets its own cookies when you pay through its checkout.
This summary is here to help. The full text below is what applies.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. They can be essential, like remembering that you're signed in, or used for tracking, like counting visitors or showing ads. StitchMyPic only uses the essential kind.
2. Cookies we use
- smp_session: keeps you signed in after you log in. It contains a random token (stored only in hashed form on our side), is not readable by scripts, and expires after 30 days or when you log out.
- smp_locale: remembers the language you use on the site so we can show the right version. It lasts up to 12 months and contains only a language code such as "en".
- smp_oauth: only if you use "Sign in with Google". It protects the sign-in against forgery and is deleted as soon as you return from Google, or after 10 minutes at most.
These cookies are strictly necessary to provide the service you ask for, so under EU and UK rules they don't require consent. They are never used for tracking or advertising.
3. Storage in your browser
The app may keep some data in your browser's storage (such as local storage or the browser cache) so the editor works smoothly, for example your editor preferences or files the converter needs. This data stays on your device and is not used to track you. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
4. Third-party cookies
- PayPal: when you pay, PayPal's checkout sets its own cookies to process the payment securely and prevent fraud. These are governed by PayPal's cookie statement.
- Google: if you use "Sign in with Google", you briefly visit Google's sign-in page, where Google's own cookie policy applies.
We don't use any analytics, advertising, or social media cookies or tracking pixels.
5. Managing cookies
You can view and delete cookies in your browser settings, and block them for this site. If you block the session cookie, you won't be able to sign in. If you block the language cookie, the site will use your browser's language preference instead.
6. Changes
If we ever want to use non-essential cookies, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent first. Questions? Write to support@stitchmypic.com.
